APCF stands with EUROPOL and supports the No More Ransom campaign together with over 188 partners from the public and private sectors.
To date, the campaign has helped more than 1.5 million people successfully decrypt their devices without having to pay criminals. The developed portal is available in 37 languages to better help ransomware victims around the world.
There is no better remedy than prevention, and the best remedy against ransomware remains prevention, responsibility and education in knowing the tools of action.
Below are some helpful tips for fighting ransomware:
Make regular backup copies of the data stored on your electronic devices.
Track your clicks – Do you know where a link will take you?
Do not open attachments in emails from unknown senders, even if they seem important and credible.
Make sure your security software and operating system are up to date.
Use two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your user accounts.
Limit the ability to export large amounts of corporate data to external file sharing portals.
If you become a victim, don't pay! Report the crime and check No More Ransom for decryption tools.
